Mandarah Project
A pneumatic plastic inflatable installation utilising natural light, colour and the surroundings. Securing funding via The Arts Council, it toured internationally being the UK entry for the Singapore Festival of Arts. A series of interconnecting patterned tubes with sun burst designs that encouraged interaction and movement within the created space, it incorporated three previous screenprints (Meetings series) conveying women at different points in the day. Fabricated into large panels with the help of Terry Scales, it transformed Cecile’s previous two dimensional work and heightened the immersive experience. “A sunlit colour and sound environment, constructed for daylight use, exploring a wide range of optical effects. The space in Mandarah II celebrates our communion with each other and with the sun” CE.
